Most projects go wrong early-on – it’s just that team members don’t discover the errors until later, when the divergence from plan is so apparent it can no longer be over-looked. Knowing how to facilitate a workshop is a critical ‘success tool’, particularly in the development of modern, technically complex systems. Workshops play a significant rôle in the creative and data capture stages of projects, as clients demand a more inclusive and participative approach from their suppliers. You quite rightly no longer expect a single company to be able to deliver an entire project and consequently multi-agency workshops are becoming more common. Using external facilitators all the time doesn’t help you build strength in your own project teams – and it’s in this area that I can help you.

Project Management Techniques

I offer customised support for project managers, based on my own project management experience and training. For example, I’ve recently helped one of Virgin’s business managers develop a new service and define the roll-out plan. For organisations wanting to build a cadre to skill I offer the Workshop Facilitation Skills and Techniques programme – a two-day programme for a maximum of 10 delegates. This programme is normally run on your premises as an in-house programme and the programme description gives you more detail on the course content.
