An international speaker, author, film-maker and voice-over artist, Chris is the managing director of Active Presence Limited, a bespoke training and consulting company he established in 2002, following a successful international business career.
Chris gives people the skills and confidence to perform in public, without fear of ridicule or retribution. His specialist speaking topic is leadership communications: how leaders do, should, and sometimes don’t, get it right.
Well known for his energetic and motivational style of delivery, Chris fuses his understanding of science and technology, with a deep understanding of the human voice and stage craft to improve people’s performances beyond their expectations.

Arthur 'Sam' Davidson MB ChB FRCS DLO
Following service in the Royal Army Medical Corps as an Ear, Nose and Throat specialist in the Far East, Sam was appointed ENT consultant to the Oxford Regional Hospital Board based at Kettering and Northampton General Hospitals.
A growing interest in the academic and educational aspects of clinical otolaryngology led to the opportunity of returning to Liverpool as consultant ENT surgeon with the Liverpool Regional Hospital Board. Following the national introduction of continuing medical education for both general practitioners and hospital doctors, he became increasingly involved in implementing the new arrangements.
Whilst continuing to maintain an active clinical interest, Sam was appointed Regional Adviser in Postgraduate Medicine, and Dean of Postgraduate Medical Studies, University of Liverpool.
Rhiannon Owens-Hall MEd GRSM LRAM ARCM
Rhiannon has been involved in the field of education since 1969. She has taught in Primary, Secondary and Higher Education establishments and was Principal Lecturer and Programme Manager for the Initial Teacher Education degree in Liverpool.
Rhiannon works throughout Europe developing and strengthening people’s use of their voice for meaningful communication, through a programme of well attended master classes, workshops and group events. She has also been invited as a guest educator in several schools, working with pupils of all aptitudes and potential in the preparation for their public performances.
Paul Edwards BEng
Paul is the managing director of 1201 Limited, a specialist film and media company serving the UK feature film industry. His handiwork as a specialist camera operator can be seen in 'Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire', 'Phantom of the Opera', 'The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy', and 'Love Actually' among other contributions to TV projects such as 'Dr. Who', 'Dalziel & Pascoe', 'Poirot' and 'Band of Brothers'.
